Once taking a back seat to functionality, design was seen as a luxury instead of a necessity in developing technology. However, as technology continues to advance, the two are becoming equally essential in creating a marketable device, making design a field that will undoubtedly be growing in the future. It was in this spirit that the Design Competition was established, creating one of the most dynamic areas of focus offered within the Imagine Cup Competition. The competition is ambitiously calling for students to use their talent in order to create a technology solution relevant to the theme of the 2009 Imagine Cup.
