The Alchemists Ark Private Limited, the company behind MoneyWorks4me.com, is a Pune-based Consulting & Training Company that has partnered market-leading companies like Castrol, Firepro, Fleetguard, Foseco, M&M, Tata Motors & Toyota, in shaping and implementing their Business & Customer Management strategies. We are a team of over 100+ people comprising Economists, Engineers, MBAs & Tech geeks and are headed by Raymond Moses and Sreeram Thiagarajan, graduates from IIT/ IIM.
How was the idea born? MoneyWorks4me.com is the result of a quest. A quest born out of our own frustration & deep disappointment as individual retail investors with available advice, advisors, methods, instruments and tools.
Like most ordinary retail investors, we have tried various things in the past - Put our money in Mutual Funds, IPOs, Shares; done day-trading, Based our buy-sell decisions on advice & hot-tips from well-meaning friends, relatives, brokers & financial planners; articles by experts in financial papers, magazines & portals.
And, we have had our hits & misses. And hits which became misses every time the stock market tumbled without notice! Till it finally became obvious to us that this was no way to build wealth! We resolved to start from first principles, understand how the real masters of value investing did it and create our own way that will make our money work for us, rather than for fund managers & brokerages.

We came up with ‘Our way of making Sensible stock investing decisions’ to build wealth. The sound framework we found out was all about doing some homework to identify solid companies, evaluating the prices of the stocks, buying them at sensible prices and selling after you get desired returns.
But, when we tried to put it in practice with existing data sources, we faced several roadblocks. “A stock is not just a ticker symbol or an electronic blip; it is an ownership interest in an actual business, with an underlying value that does not depend on its share price.” – Benjamin Graham With this simple thought in our mind and knowledge developed from the readings of experts like Benjamin Graham, Peter Lynch, Aswath Damodaran and Mary Buffett, we attempted to apply… for listed companies in India
And…We found that data to identify solid companies available in the public domain: - Was for a max of 3 years. This does not cover a full economic cycle! - Was often unadjusted for dividends, stock splits, rights, etc making it difficult to compare We had to spend several hours to process the available financial data for meaningful analysis and interpretation. And when we did identify solid companies, we simply couldn’t find good tools to help us evaluate stocks.
That’s when we realized an individual retail investor is either not aware about this sound method nor does he have access to good tools to practice this sound framework developed by the gurus.
We finally cracked it. A collaborative effort of our team of Economists, Engineers, MBAs & Tech geeks developed a solution to solve these problems. At last we had a platform to implement the sound method using tools that were simple, robust, and time-saving and enabled us be in the driver’s seat @ stock investing! We felt jubilant! And now, we want it to be available to a whole lot of people like us, investors who feel the need to take control of their investments, and make confident stock investing decisions.
