Two years ago when I completed v1.0 of this site, (v1.5 about 2 months later - adding forums etc..) the site was recieving about 1,000 unique visitors daily had about 3,000 members and 300 or so modifications. Everything was rosy, fast and running smoothly, the problem was the site didn't and still hasn't ceased growing now boasting over 35,000 members, 2,000 mods and recieveing about 11,000 unique visitors daily.
I honestly never expected the site to grow like it has, and the original v1.0 engine just cannot cope with the demand placed on it and new features constantly demanded by the great community of members this site has. Thus began the huge project of re-programming the site and launching v2.0. The aim was to do more than just a facelift but to change and enhance the site in every little way possible after witnessing all that has happened over the past 2 years. As you are now viewing v2.0 you can see that this was acomplished. Pages were completly redesigned from the ground up and while the v1.0 feel remains, v2.0 has brought with it, some nifty features this site has been begging for (i.e. a download section, smarter searches and a more accurate mod listing).
Its time to take things serious around here, and continue dishing up the content and providing the mod listing that over 5 million people have browsed.
