Military Education: Montgomery GI Bill
Description
Excerpted from the website:
- Veterans, you can get money from the government to pay for your education!
- The Servicemen’s Readjustment Act of 1944, commonly known as the GI Bill of Rights, was passed by Congress and signed by President Roosevelt to help Veterans rejoin the civilian community. Many thought it was patronizing, but most acknowledged the difficulties associated with leaving the military and getting a job. The GI Bill gave vets the opportunity to attend college and get a degree before hitting the workforce. Veterans still have that opportunity today. The government will pay up to $500 in tuition per school year PLUS a monthly allowance for expenses while enrolled.
