REVIEW OF METRX
Met-RX was founded in 1991, as a sports nutrition company, whose products are now sold world wide. Its initial product was a high protein meal replacement product which was purported to use a new blend of protein. This is what Met-RX says about this initial product: “this unique protein blend was developed by a physician, based on metabolic research on supporting lean muscle mass”. There products are advertised toward athletes and body builders, as well as professional and college sports teams. Met-Rx products have made their way out of these exclusive locker rooms and into the local health food store, as well as various discount stores.

REVIEW OF Met-RX
Met-Rx has developed and launched a great many products. Their product line includes products for increasing muscle and mass strength, muscle tone and energy, performance supplements, exercise recovery and repair and a collegiate series; each of these categories of products contains at least 2 products and as many as 7 products in each. The shakes and bars come in a variety of flavors. Met-Rx has a really extensive product line, which when you initially look at it could make your head spin. There is a huge variety of products – shakes, bars, capsules and liquids. These products are purported to be geared toward increasing athletic performance. However, some of these products are very simple and contain run of the mill ingredients, such as MET-Rx® HARDCORE ZMA. This product is really an average mineral and vitamin replacement supplement, when you break down all its components. It contains Zinc, magnesium and B-6, all of which can be found over the counter in discount stores through out the country. It is nothing special except in terms of hype and expense. In our estimation, this is the case with many of Met-Rx’s formulas. They often try to do too much and end up being average in terms of formulary and results.
