Tonight, come party with eamon and myself at Calling All Kids @ Sapphire. We have a $3 PBR special all night and music to blow your mind. The party starts at 10pm, and there's no cover.
Apart from the song Heartbeats from an earlier album, i had only heard several 12" remixes of The Knife (i even used one of their remixes for my 2005 Atomique mixed CD). That is until i started listening repeatedly to Silent Shout, the band's new release. The album is so twisted, haunting and unpredictable (particularly lyrically), and i really love it. It reminds me of a distant cousin of Aphex Twin, dark electro songs with a bit more structure and melody. Truth be told, i have a much harder time getting into albums these days, you know, listening from beginning to end without getting bored or restless. However, this record is proof that i can still be captivated by a full length from start to finish.
Tonight, show off your dance moves downstairs at LOTUS for GBH's Loaded party - i'll be spinning from 1 to 4am, you just need to say 'Melody Nelson' at the door for complimentary admission. I have to say the downstairs there is way cooler than the big room upstairs, it's sort of like a hidden treasure. Come check it out.
