The Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA) was established in 1974. Over the years, MATTA has grown from being a travel agents association with about 30 members to one with over 1,900 members comprising all the travel agents and tour operators in the country as well as numerous overseas affiliations.
It is also the national umbrella representative body for the entire travel industry in the country. With a full time secretariat in Kuala Lumpur, its headquarters, MATTA has state chapters in Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, Melaka, Johor, Perak, Penang, Pahang, Kedah, Kelantan, Terengganu, Sabah and Sarawak.
