Who is this ‘Matt’ guy, anyway?
I came into this world on Thursday, May 1, 1980. Since then I’ve spent a significant amount of time playing music, listening to music, playing video games, watching movies, skateboarding, loving my wife, daughter, two kitties and family, and trying to make the best of my time on this planet - oh, and I design websites, on occasion.
I rocked drums for a ska/punk band called Lucky Number Seven from 1997-2002. I was, and still am super tight with the other guys in the band. LNS is responsible for some of my favourite memories and I met so many great people playing shows. I truly miss it.
I started my own company in May of 2000 called Media Press shortly after deciding College wasn’t for me. A month later, I landed a job at ‘The Nation’s Music Station‘ MuchMusic. For 2 years I co-hosted a weekly ‘internet/tech/culture’ show. I was later bumped up in the ranks to a senior position and continued to work in the Queen St. window until July of 2005. When I left Much, I realized how much of my life I’ve worked away over the past few years and decided to shut Media Press down.
