Heng Swee Keat, Managing Director of MAS, spoke about role of Islamic financial institutions in the aftermath of the financial crisis and areas where policy makers and financial practitioners in the Middle East and Asia can work together to contribute to growth and development. He also announced the signing of a MoU with the Central Bank of Bahrain and a high-profile Islamic finance conference which Singapore will host from 2010.
