Martin Wickramasinghe started to write in his language, Sinhala, at the age of 13 years and continued to write in both Sinhala and English until the age of 86 years. Some of his major Novels and Short Stories have been translated into English, French, German, Russian, Japanese, Chinese, Dutch, Romanian and Tamil languages.
