If you are new to Mamacita:
I write Mamacita because, though serious issues and the Big Questions haunt me, I still like being whistled at by a guy atop a steel girder once in awhile. Like many women, I'm feminist in my orientation but don't wear it on my sleeve. I'm past "Miss" no longer a "Mrs." and "Ms." seemed too severe. "Mamacita" fits me.
Like many women, I juggle multiple roles. In any one day I am a: writer, humble taxpayer (!), cook, handyman (woman?), citizen, sexy vixen, Democrat, pro-choice advocate, community volunteer, Greek chorus to all that is Washington, DC and member of world's largest sorority: motherhood.
I've been publishing Mamacita as an online magazine for about a year and a half. Recently, technology caught up with me and I started a blog . After an agonizing apprenticeship with the unforgiving Movable Type interface, I merged the two in November 2005. Gradually, the blog and the 'zine will flow together.
