The simple act of playing 9 numbers on a wheel drops those odds to 1 in 273,303.33 of course it takes 81 tickets to fully cover 9 numbers and 81 x 273,303.33 is 22.3 million, but that's not the point, because it is also possible to play 9 numbers for a 5 number prize using only 7 tickets with a 1 in 11 chance of a 6 number jackpot win when all 6 winning numbers are among the 9 wheeled.
There are smarter ways to play and like the odds, this fact never changes.
