Title

The Official Home of The Lars Larson Show

Description

Lars Larson got his start in radio at age 16 spinning records (remember 45s?) and reading news, sports and weather (twice an hour) on KTIL from a little cinderblock building on the edge of a cow pasture in Tillamook, Oregon. Twenty-eight years later, he’s only moved 75 miles to the East (Portland)…and light years to “the Right”. A far more controversial moment occurred on November 13, 2005, when Larson, speaking on his show, threatened to shoot his own daughter if "she ever tries marijuana or any other form of drugs. And she knows I mean it."[1]

Along the way, Lars has worked for radio stations in Eugene, Spokane and currently NewsRadio 750 KXL in Portland, where he double dares station management to pry him loose. Despite friends who tell him he “has a face made for radio” Lars has worked for local television stations: KVAL in Eugene, KPTV, and KOIN in Portland. Much to his wife Tina’s delight, Lars has picked up several dozen awards, including a couple of television Emmy’s and a Peabody.

He never served in the military, but he is a long supporter ot putting the U.S. military in harm's way.

In December 2005, Larson declared on-air that he was protesting the renaming of the traditional Christmas Tree placed in Pioneer Courthouse Square a "Holiday Tree" by placing his own Christmas Cross in the Square. The idea was reversed because of threats made against Larson and the Christmas Cross, as well as legal concerns for his flagship station. This was yet another example of his mouth not being backed up with his brain

Today, Lars holds down the fort from 11am to 2pm on Radio Northwest flagship NewsRadio 750 KXL. The show can be heard on 16 radio stations all over Oregon as well as parts of Washington & Idaho and on the Internet.

Additional Information

Larson is licensed in Oregon to carry a concealed weapon. He has responded to persons who threaten to harm him or his family physically by publicly threatening to return any such attempts with lethal force. For example, when Michael Moore called Larson's home number from the stage, for a political stunt, during a Fahrenheit 9/11 promotion tour, Larson's voice mail greeting gave his personal cellphone number and the entire audience heard it. According to police records, multiple people thereafter harassed his family and made threatening sexual comments to his wife. Lars then announced on the air that if anyone acted on these threats and tried to harm someone in his family, he would use lethal force in self-defense. but if he killed someone for just speaking a threat, he would be prosecuted.

Community Reviews

Larson long claimed his mother was killed by a drunk driver, but the record shows the car his mother was driving was hit by a sober woman who ran a stop sign in foggy Klamath Falls, similar to what Laura Bush did when she killed a man in Texas. Larson is a out-of-controll screaming proponent for stopping all immigration in the United States and greatly increasing requirements for immigrants to become citizens, such as respecting the culture of the United States as well as learning to read, write, and speak English. The majority of his shows are devoted to or repeatedly mention the topic. He also is quick to dismiss African Americans and Asians A far more controversial moment occurred on November 13, 2005, when Larson, speaking on his show, threatened to shoot his own daughter if "she ever tries marijuana or any other form of drugs. And she knows I mean it."[1]
