The Dollhouse pictured above is the first bar in Bangkok that I know of that attempted to enforce a long term bar fine on customers who fall in love with a bargirl and want to take her out of the scene for good. They were asking for a fee of 10,000 baht to take the girl away from the bar for good and quite frankly, THIS IS ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING! What is the bar saying? If you do not pay the fee, you cannot take her away? Is she indentured labour? I sincerely hope that this bar changes this shocking policy fast. Most bars have some oppressive policies that are very harsh on penalising the girls but this one is just crazy... From what I can gather, this is no longer the case at The Dollhouse which is good...but many other bars seem to have a similar policy.

- Be VERY wary about moving bar girls in to live with you - even if you explicitly tell them it is only short term. It is very easy to move them in and EXTREMELY difficult to move them out! Kicking her out means that she loses face - with friends, the staff in the building etc and she could well resist it. Don't just think because the apartment is in your name and you pay the bills that you can just kick her out like that when you are bored of her or when things go bad. No sir, life would be nice if only it was that easy. This also applies if you are in Bangkok on holiday. Thai girls can become clingy, far more so than any farang girl and frankly, that is a situation best avoided.
