Background

For many years scholars of Jungian and post-Jungian studies have worked in relative isolation without a platform in which this rich multidisciplinary enterprise could come together. The International Association for Jungian Studies is an attempt to change this. Please see our Consitution. We hope that you will join us.

The idea for the IAJS was around for many years, but it took the face to face meetings between academics from many disciplines and countries, who share an interest in Jungian and post-Jungian Studies, to bring the idea to life. The IAJS was formally set up following the highly successful First International Academic Conference of Analytical Psychology in July 2002, which was organised by the International Association for Analytical Psychology at the University of Essex in partnership with the Centre for Psychoanalytic Studies.

About the IAJS

The IAJS exists to promote and develop Jungian and post-Jungian studies and scholarship on an international basis. The IAJS is a multidisciplinary association dedicated to the exploration and exchange of views about all aspects of the broader cultural legacy of Jung's work and the history of analytical psychology. Through the development of Jungian and post-Jungian studies, the IAJS aims to aid the understanding of contemporary cultural trends and the history of psychological and cultural tendencies.
