How did it start?
Judy's Book was started in Seattle by two friends, Andy Sack and Chris DeVore. Andy's mother-in-law, Judy, was the inspiration for the site. When Judy was alive, she kept a "little green book" full of her local favorites, from her dentist and mechanic to the best gardeners and the tastiest restaurants she knew. Judy shared her book with family and friends to help them find the best of everything in the city she loved.
By offering anyone a platform for sharing local opinions, Chris and Andy hope to recreate the honesty and passion captured in the original "Judy's Book" — creating a place online where friends and neighbors can discuss everything that matters in their community, making connections with each other and with the best that their community has to offer.
