With over 21,000 members, Engineers Ireland is the country's largest professional body. Our primary role is to be the representative voice of the engineering profession in Ireland. Engineers Ireland is different from other engineering bodies in Ireland in that we represent all disciplines of engineering.
Engineers Ireland organises a comprehensive national and regional programme of papers, lectures, debates, discussions, seminars, conferences, training courses, site visits and social activities too enable members to keep members up to date with all aspects of their profession. The social aspect to many of the events ensures that there is always an opportunity to network with other members and engineering professionals.
Engineers Ireland is the operating name of The Institution of Engineers of Ireland. The Institution was founded on the 6th August 1835 and this year it celebrates its 170th anniversary. To view the transactions of the very first meeting of the Institution, click here.
