Welcome to Idle Days – the make believe world of one highly disturbed woman-child known as, La Idler. Before you think that I'm from Los Angeles, let me clear that up once and for all and say that I'm not. I'm not American (if you can't already tell from the spelling) and have only been to L.A. once (well, if you consider Hollywood L.A.) However, I must say that it sounds quite nice if I really were a really motivationally deficient individual living in the City of Angels – gives me street cred or something. Alas, I simply hail from the really small (some say exotic; others say, pimple; better yet, pi sai) island-state of Singapore. A really fine island if you know what I mean!
It used to be "The Idler", but then it sounded really lame and noncomplex, like "The Riddler", so I went for the next best thing of choosing a foreign-sounding moniker, at least for the first word. At that point in time when everything was pretty much hazy in my mind, due to excessive late nights and cerebral inactivity, I thought why not French? After all, I did pass lesson one in my self-taught French language class of "bonjour", "au revoir" and "va te faire foutre, trouduc"* with flying colours! It just so happened that I was learning masculine and feminine terms, which to this day still causes some form of confusion. Anyway, I see you are almost going to sleep already, so let me quickly enlighten you that I was quite uninspired and couldn't for the life of me, think up of a brilliant name for my third person and so was left with the really boring moniker of La Idler. Satisfied?!
Now what else should I add? Ah! A/S/L? I've got the S and L down pat already and let's just say I'm no longer a horny teenager nor am I at an age that requires hip replacement surgery. I like to think I'm at the age where I am able to face up to my responsibilities and not throw the toys out of my pram (not that often now anyways).
