The IHLA is a non-profit organization that is trying to save land from being made un-available to hunters, campers, and anyone else who uses the outdoors for recreation. We are working to secure donations and grant money to fund acquisitions of land. We also have membership's to the IHLA which sustain the organizations operating expenses. All of our Board members and staff are volunteers who work very hard to keep the IHLA in existance until the funding to acquire land comes through.
We shall always strive to give people who use the outdoors for hunting the very best of our efforts and will treat everyone we work with including landowners and farmers in an honest, timely and professional manner.We will, without question, guarantee professionalism in our work.
Founded in 1999 by members of the NAHC, the IHLA was a vision of what our hunting land was soon becoming. It is our belief that, in the not so distant future, the land that we as hunters count on to be there and produce a good quantity and quality of game animals, would soon be a shopping center or worse yet, posted no hunting. It is this end that makes the I H L A work ever so hard to ensure that doesn't happen. If you hunt and have ever come across a posted sign where there was once a quality hunting opportunity, you know why we exist. Your donations do an awful lot to slow urban sprawl and preserve quality hunting land for many years to come. The IHLA is made up mostly of volunteers and only pays a small amount of its contributions recieved to cover operating expenses. Some organizations pay out huge salaries to their members and spend money on lavish offices, we however believe that the money should be spent on the land and not all on the people that work in the organization. The IHLA is a non-profit organization that uses funds donated by private citizens and other charitable organizations to help hunters acquire usage rights to land for hunters and outdoorsmen and women. We also maintain a good working relationship with the farming community.
