Carol Felvey, the President of Felvey Publishing, Inc. and founder of Healing Your Heart Seminars for Widows had been married for twenty-nine years when her husband learned he had cancer. Three months after diagnosis, she was widowed. While Carol had believed herself to be an independent person, no previous life experience could have prepared her for the loss, grief and monumental change that results when a partner dies. Recognizing that there must be others who had the same feelings and needs as she, Carol created a program exclusively for widows from a widow's perspective. Ms. Felvey is the mother of three adult children. She had been an addictions counselor for ten years, worked in public relations and most recently wrote the book, My Healing Heart - a widow's story.
The death of a spouse at any age is devastating. It is the belief of Healing Your Heart that all facets of a survivor's life are affected by their loss. Healing Your Heart seeks to assist widows in the reformulation of their lives. Having stated the above, Healing Your Heart's goal is to inspire, inform and educate widows as they begin the steps toward rebuilding. Recognizing that no two relationships or lifestyles are the same, all are viewed as individuals. Healing Your Heart seeks to make the road less traveled appear newly paved and easier to follow.
