How do You Know if You are Being Targeted

1) It is ABSOLUTELY CRITICAL...

Yes, CRITICAL that you make no distinction between knowing if actually being targeted or merely thinking you might be targeted, with respect to deciding to do something about it. Why? Because most people who would go so far as to read this text already have VALID reasons to SUSPECT they are targeted. Such reasons, which are generally vague feelings or intuitions, or sometimes which may be based upon or may include odd events (i.e., disturbed objects suggesting searches or presence of unauthorized persons, same vehicle in rearview, strange phone calls, etc.) are QUITE VALID because these feelings, even if just intuition, are natures way of warning you: SOMETHING is not right.
The first principle is that you must not fool yourself - and you are the easiest person to fool.
Richard Feynman (1918 - 1988), Caltech commencement address, 1974

2) BEWARE of ADVICE from others...

True, it could be a false alarm as they might suggest (and you yourself may have so thought), but you DARE NOT assume it so, even at the behest or chiding of those around you who DID NOT EXPERIENCE the things that gave you warning. THEIR OPINION AND ADVICE TO IGNORE THE SITUATION COULD BE DANGEROUS. One must ALWAYS assume a defensive posture when events warrent nature's warnings. That does not mean erratic or overt behavioral changes, it merely means CAUTION and PRECAUTION are advised.
A good scare is worth more to a man than good advice.

3) Use CAUTION and PRECAUTION...

Caution is easy: Look, Think, THEN React in informed, delerate, and calm choice. Most people simply react, then think about what just happened. Where possible, such reactions should be disguised so as not to appear defensive in nature.
Deliberate with caution, but act with decision...
Charles Caleb Colton (1780 - 1832)
Precaution is also easy. Purchase a copy of any of the good books on personal privacy and security such as:
The Gift of Fear by Gavin DeBecker, a book which further explains
how to use feelings and intutions to your advantage, and how and why those
feelings can be true warning signs that can save your life.
The Professional Paranoid by H. Michael Sweeney, a comprehensive review of
all manner of personal privacy and security issues and how to deal with nasty
issues of any nature.

What Do You Do if YOU ARE Targeted

1) If you KNOW YOU HAVE A PROBLEM...

Review all of the above advice, as it is equally germain. But always remember The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: DON'T PANIC! Act as if nothing is amiss, but quietly and covertly contact The Professional Paranoid at the email address above and request a FREE HELPS kit. This will put you in touch with the author H. Michael Sweeney who will give you some free advice and analysis, and offer further servies where appropriate to your needs and wishes.

An ancient* once said, Anyone can hold the helm when the sea is calm.'
To this I would add, 'only a calm man can well hold the helm when the sea is a raging tempest.'
H. Michael Sweeney referencing a quote from Publilius Syrus Maxims, 100 BC

2) If YOU ELECT NON OF THE ABOVE...

It would then be an appropriate time to take the only other avenue remaining: PANIC! In so doing of course, everyone around you will simply chide you for being paranoid. Then, when the boogy man at last gets you or does whatever nasty deed intended, you can at least say, 'I told you so!'

All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.
Edmund Burke (1729 - 1797)
