Comfortable: Seat curvature is critical to how an Adirondack chair feels. You could throw a cushion on any outdoor chair, but real design quality is revealed by a seat curvature which is good without a cushion, one which conforms to the body while also not being too bucketed. Excessive seat curvature can give one a feeling of being "socked in" to the back of the chair. You should feel free to move around slightly as you sit. Some Adirondack designs have a flat back, with no curvature at all, while others may be excessively bucketed. Excess back curvature can make you feel a little bit like you're sitting in a barrel. Our back curvatures are designed to conform to your body while allowing for plenty of arm movement, and moving around as you sit. These chairs are designed to be universally comfortable, rather than for only people of average height and weight.
