The Servant Church: A Collective Witness for Peace based on Faithful Community
What can we do now? Still reeling from the death of our friend Tom Fox, and struggling with the implications, we invite friends and supporters to join a group study refelcting on some of the critical issues escalated by the trial of the past four months.
Writing in the context of the American Sanctuary Movement, Jim Corbett and Ricardo Elford provide significant insight into some of the most vital questions facing faithful communities today. In their pamphlet The Servant Church, they invite us to consider a societal alternative to terrorism and coercive power based on servanthood and all-inclusive fellowship. In a nine-week study including readings, queries, and sharing, this group will explore these questions against the backdrop of the present war on terror.
