Mission The Freechild Project seeks to advocate, inform, and celebrate social change led by and with young people around the world, particularly those who have been historically denied the right to participate.
Background The Freechild Project was created in April 2000 to encourage young people to seek empowered roles in their schools and communities. A network young people and youth advocates around the world has driven The Freechild Project to international prominence in the fields of youth development, youth empowerment, and youth involvement.
In late 2005 Freechild became a program of CommonAction, a new nonprofit organization located in Olympia, Washington. V isit the CommonAction website
