The Fedora Legacy Project

Description

What is The Fedora Legacy Project?

The Fedora Legacy Project is a community-supported open source project. It is not a supported project of Red Hat, Inc. although Red Hat, Inc. does provide some support services for it.

Red Hat Linux has been discontinued, but has left behind two descendants; Red Hat Enterprise Linux and The Fedora Project. While Red Hat Enterprise Linux is still supported by Red Hat and has a long support lifetime for all release versions, the same is not true of Red Hat Linux and Fedora Core releases. They are either End of Life (EOL), near EOL, or future versions will be released with a short support lifetime.

The goal of The Fedora Legacy Project is to work with the Linux community to provide security and critical bug fix errata packages for select Red Hat Linux and Fedora Core releases after they reach their EOL, thus extending their effective lifetime in environments where frequent upgrades are not possible or desirable.
