This means that through our magazine, bCommerce portal, business solution services, merchandising, business directory, search portal, and every other division of our company, we plan to always consider the impact on our community first.
Emerging Minds.org is a fresh and progressive approach to news, culture and business. This website is an online resource center for individuals to get involved in organizations, movements or businesses that will lead to the improvement of poor and economically depressed communities. Statistics show that in the United States Black Americans (Black being the race as indicated on the U.S. Census despite country of origin) are the worse off in terms of education, economics and social structures. It is for that reason that the founders of Emerging Minds believe it is up to all African Americans to address the issues plaguing our communities and revitalize them. We produced this website in an effort to organize, empower, educate and mobilize an online community that produces real world results.
Emerging Minds was founded on the campus of Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University by a graduate student who was frustrated with his current choices for Friday night entertainment and was looking to offer a mentally stimulating alternative that yielded a positive impact on society. The result of this young man's disappointment was an event known as "Mingling of the Minds." With the help of two other students the young man founded the organization Emerging Minds, that sponsored Friday evening social forums that addressed education, political and economic issues. The organization also launched a website that provided information about upcoming events and topics of the Emerging Minds. However, the founders of the organization felt that the website could be better utilized and thus in February of 2003 launched EM Online, a news and cultural magazine.
