EFILive Limited is a New Zealand based software development company that designs and produces world class, PC-based, digital tools for on-board vehicle electronics.
From humble beginnings, co-owner, Paul Blackmore developed a scanning tool to feed his desire of gaining knowledge about the performance of his vehicle. Carbytes, a free OBD-I scantool was available for public download in the late 1990's. Interest from aftermarket performance workshops, and calls for significant product enhancements lead to the creation of EFILive Limited, then our software aptly named EFILive V4, designed for OBD-I. With the industry advancements in after market performance products, EFILive saw a need to provide OBD-II support to compliment other products in the market. EFILive V5 and then V6 were added to the product suite to meet these needs.
In collaboration with now co-owner Ross Myers, EFILive V7 was the first product that combined an integrated scanning and tuning tool for the LS1 engine platform. Many of the features developed in V7 are still unrivalled in our market. Teaming the most comprehensive software with firsts such as Blackbox data logging, hardware communications via USB connection, as well as Free Software trials, and ‘key’ upgradeable licensing and hardware the industry benchmark was set.
