Ethiopia was a revelation for many others before me, as the literature dedicated to it shows. Thesiger, explorer of the Awash river and the Danakil in the 30's, found the right words : "Abyssinia resembles no other country in Africa or anywhere else". Its mountainous, breathtaking landscapes, full of wild flowers and hosting a multitude of birds; its christian orthodox tradition, dating from the fourth century, and the kindness and pride of its people are unique.
