...that being whatever I could find to create an image with, even using cocktail sticks and cotton wool at 3 years old when I didn’t have a paintbrush. For as long as I can rememberI have always been able to draw and paint, and over the years I have used lots of different ‘Magic Wands’ to create artwork. My current ‘Wands’ are my adored computer and digital camera, with which, alongside hand painting, I ‘magic-up’ a plethora of wyrd and wonderful characters and imagery. These are inspired by my love of nature and a passionate interest in Druidry, Shamanism and Celtic Mythology.
I'm a Graphic Designer by trade and have recently given up full-time work to concentrate on being an Illustrator. I’m also a qualified Homoeopath and practice this healing art from time to time.
My many influences include ‘Bob Venosa’, ‘Brian Froud’, ‘Arthur Rackham’, ‘Beryl Cook’, ‘Pre-Raphaelite Art’, ‘Alma Tadema‘, ‘Mexican Art’, ‘Seaside Postcards’, ‘Catholic & Hindu Iconography’, ‘Carry-On films’, ‘Hammer House of Horror’, ‘Wizard of Oz’, ‘Tim Burton films’, ‘League of Gentlemen’, ‘The Goodies’, ‘The Arizona Desert’, ‘Drumming’, ‘Edgar Alan Poe’, ‘Alan Garner’, ‘Fortean Times’, and absolutely anything ‘Strange, Rare or Peculiar’.
