Century Communications is the designated service provider for Basic Cable TV, Internet Access and Alarm Monitoring. We would like to inform you of what communication services are available with the purchase of your new home. Through an agreement with your Homeowners Association, we will provide the expertise and customer service support associated with your home. This contract requires Century Communications to provide the above-listed services to all residents within. We will maintain the external wiring from which these services are delivered. Maintenance of structured wiring, outlets, modules, and other equipment located inside of the home are provided by and warranted by your builder and low voltage vendor. You may contact your builder for further information.
The Basic Cable Television lineup includes approximately sixty channels. Your home should be cable-ready upon your move in. Simply plug in your TV, connect the co-ax cable, set to (CATV) Cable-TV Mode and Auto-program. If your channels are not clear, please phone 1-888-386-9601 and report a service call right away. This service includes local broadcast-affiliated channels, as available, such as ABC, NBC, CBS and FOX, as well as a Teleguide, Community channel, and a whole host of informative, educational, sports and recreational and entertainment channels. Also, you may opt to choose additional services such as digital cable upgrades where you can listen to CD music stations, view Premium channels such as HBO, Showtime, TMC, Starz and Encore, and Cinemax; as well as order Pay-Per-View movies and events. These optional services are available directly from Century Communications individually or in packages. Prices range from $12.99-$69.99. Security deposits of $60.00 per box are required. A Basic Internet Connection which is intended for residential use is also provided through your Homeowners Association Agreement. This service, usually located in the master bedroom unless specified elsewhere, includes download speeds of up to 750 kilobytes and upload speeds of up to 128 kilobytes. Internet upgrades of 1.5 mbps are available for only $19.95 per month/per modem. There are three web-mail accounts included with your service. Century Communications utilizes the capabilities of a broadband network to provide an alternative to the slow speeds associated with typical dial-up access services. It will be necessary to purchase and install a 1.1 DOCSIS compliant cable modem, to utilize this service. Modems may be purchased directly through Century Communications or any quality electronics retailer. By calling our 24-hour service center, we can assist you with procedures regarding the activation ($39.95 plus tax) of your service or the purchase of your modem ($104.95 plus tax, includes installation and covers the activation fee). We require a MAC address for any modem not purchased through us. Currently, we are researching the means of providing VOIP, unified messaging, fax capability, however we do not currently provide these features or newsgroup connections, nor are we responsible for the hardware, software or other end user/internet related configurations, private or internal home or office network systems-including routers.
