Is Golf Instruction Killing Your Game?

Description

About The Golf Lesson

a) Video and Pictures—the video camera can be an important tool for golf instructors and their students, but it does have a serious limitation that usually makes it more dangerous than beneficial. The problem is that anything viewed on a TV screen is two dimensional, which means you're missing the real picture of what's happening in a golf swing, and having multiple views doesn't solve the problem. This doesn't sound like a big deal, but it is huge!

b) Thorough explanations—a good golf instructor should always explain a concept so thoroughly that there is no doubt about what they are attempting to teach you during a golf lesson. Additionally, they should be asking you to repeat back to them what they have just taught you so that they can be sure that you have a basic understanding of the concept.

c) Proof—a thorough explanation from a good golf instructor is not just for the purpose of teaching, it is also offered as proof to the validity of what is being taught during the golf lesson. Never assume that what a golf instructor teaches is right because it often isn't!
