Category:Hair Loss

Hair loss is common among men where a receding hair line, bald crown and eventual baldness over the top of the scalp is caused by Male Pattern Baldness.

The equivalent in women is called Female Pattern Baldness but presents as thinning hair over the top of the head.

Alopecia Areata is the third most common cause of hair loss and typically presents as bald patches.

Many people are happy to live with their hair as it is. For those who wish to seek treatment there are two FDA approved drugs for hair loss that help stop and restore hair growth before the scalp becomes bald. If the scalp is bald, however, a hairpiece or a number of surgical techniques might be more appropriate.
