- Frustrated by the lack of effective therapeutic saddle pads available at the time, Helen and Mel King started Cashel Company in 1986 and developed the unique and popular Cashel Cushion saddle pad. We bought Cashel in 1995 and began to add new products to the line, emphasizing items that increased the comfort and safety of horse and rider. With Cashel located on our horse farm in rural southwest Washington State, we personally supervise the manufacture of most of our products and take great pride in the innovative design and quality construction of each item.
