We started Case-Mate with a simple goal. Make protective cases for the gadgets we use everyday that are stylish, sleek and yet offer the best possible protection.
We are a group of engineers who happen to be crazy about the latest gadgets in the market. Being typical engineers we obsess when it comes to protecting our gadgets. We had been fascinated with expensive leather cases we saw on the market and went about designing a better leather case during a lunch break. That was over six months ago. It started as a weekend hobby, tinkering with materials and cases. The idea slowly started to take shape and it took us to India and China where we met plastics engineers, tanneries and leather craftsmen. After making countless prototypes we came up with the one that we felt was good enough for our gadgets at a price point which did not burn holes in our wallet.
We began our journey as entrepreneurs over six months ago. We almost gave up (several times) even before we started. This journey had its official start date when we began to accept orders over the web on Dec 7, 2005.
