BHAKTI YOGA CENTRE - HAMBURG - GERMANY - A part of ISKCON movement

Description

The Hare Krishna movement's mission is to promote the well being of Society by teaching the science of Krishna consciousness according to Bhagavad-gita.

The International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) first started it's activities in Hamburg in 1969, and as such the Hamburg centre is the society‘s first European one, the Hare Krishna Movement having been introduced to America by it's founder, His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupāda, in 1967. Since 1969, there have been regular Hare Krishna meetings in Hamburg. Whereas at the first Hamburg centres (until 1975) there were monks present to perform the various daily temple functions, the later centres have been congregational meeting places.

In our Bhakti Yoga Centre, the Hamburg congregation – German, Indian and also other nationalities are represented – meets once a week for the traditional Hare Krishna Sunday Feast. Otherwise, we live in various places in and around Hamburg to follow our respective daily activities. Our priests are long standing members of the Hare Krishna Movement who have gone through a thorough religious training at different ISKCON temples around the world.
