Welcome to BDPA Richmond!!

Description

To keep America competitive in the global economy, we must develop a workforce prepared to address the challenges of change. Our main purpose is to facilitate the advancement of information science knowledge throughout the community and to encourage the exploration of information technology as a career option. We are commited to the development of human resources directed to the IT industry.

BDPA-Richmond is a network which shares information, provides education, and performs community service. BDPA draws its strength from a dedicated and committed membership and a network of professional contacts in the business community. Membership is open to all regardless of profession, race, sex, religion, or national origin in accordance with existing national and local bylaws.

In may of 1975, two men with a vision, Earl Pace Jr. and David Wimberly, founded a local professional non-profit information technology organization that would address the shortage and concerns of minorities in the field. In 1979 BDPA was restructured as a national organization with chapters in Philadelphia, PA, Washington, DC and Cleveland, OH. Today over forty (40) chapters throughout the United States represent the national organization.
