REVIEW OF balance.com
Balance Bar® is a company which manufactures energy and meal replacement bars. It began in 1992 when “a group of guys” decided the industry needed a portable nutrition product. The first supplements produced by this company was based on the 40-30-30 theory, which thought meal calories should be derived from 40% Carbs, 30% Protein and 30% Dairy Fat. According to the website, this type of nutrition, supposedly “sustains energy and hunger management.”The creators of Balance Bar® claim that the supplements are widely used in the world of cycling due to their portability and nutritional factors. The company feels their products are perfect for active individuals, but are working to spread their “philosophy of healthy living to a growing mainstream audience.” We will closely examine this manufacturer and their meal replacement bars to determine if the advertised benefits of weight loss and sustained energy are likely to occur.

REVIEW OF Balance Bar
Currently, Balance Bar® only produces meal replacement and snack bars. Though they have expanded their inventory into six different types of bars which include the following: The Original Balance Bar, which utilizes the 40-30-30 nutritional theory; Balance Gold, which is said to increase energy; Trail Mix Energy Bar, which is also said to enhance energy and work as a portable meal; Gold Crunch, which may is a source for 23 different vitamins; Carb Well™, which is an advertised meal replacement bar; 100 Calories Bar, which is said to be the “perfect nutritious snack.” The meal replacement options may promote weight loss if individuals stick to a dedicated diet plan. However, these supplements are low in calories and replacing two meals a day may be hard for a dieter’s body. Professionals say that when an adequate amount of calories are not consumed dieters may become fatigued and irritable because their bodies are lacking essential fuel.
