I grew up in a small town in rural northern Illinois, and went on to graduate from Western Illinois University in 1972 with a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education. I taught school briefly two times. In Goldsboro, North Carolina I taught high school remedial math, and in Hampton, Virginia I taught third grade. I'm married, the mother of two grown children, and I have five wonderful grandchildren.
