Small Employer Medical Plans
Assurant Health offers health insurance for employed people, which are sponsored by the employer, and designed for companies with 2 to 50 employees. Short Term Medical
To avoid sudden cause of huge medical expenses, Assurant Health offers short term medical insurance coverage, as a guard against unexpected huge medical costs. Student Select Medical Insurance
Assurant Health offers insurance covers for undergraduate and graduate college students. This plan is also offered to those who are considering a plan sponsored by their colleges.
There is an eligibility factor, and in here, a student is defined to be the one having at least nine credit hours, who also must meet the criteria of graduate studentship guidelines, having a full time student status of his or her colleges or universities. The college or the university, that the student attends, must be state-accredited. The plan is for students who are under 30 years old.
The student can carry the insurance cover anywhere in the US, and Canada. The plan does not cover the student in a foreign land. However, it covers emergency evacuation to the home country, or medical treatments operating within its laws. Assurant Health offers maternity benefits on the student select medical insurance cover, for an additional fee. The additional benefits offered by the plan for psychiatric, substance abuse or mental illness, alcohol, and rehabilitation vary from state to state in the US.
Discount Plans
There are three discount plans that are offered by Assurant:
- Prescription Discount Plan
- Dental-Vision Discount Plan
- Medical Discount Plan
Assurant discount plans have three categories of savings. There is an average saving of 20% to 30%, and up to 40% on physician fees and hospital charges. For eye and dental care, you can save up to 50%, and for prescriptions you can save up to 30% of the actual cost. The discount plans offered by Assurant are not insurance plans.
