The catalyst in creating Arkiva was the unprecedented destruction of homes, businesses, and government facilities in Mississippi and Louisiana in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. The founders recognized the potential for protecting assets by creating a digital catalog and they took that to the next level by housing it in a geographically separated data center with built-in redundancy.
