The unofficial site for the members of Road Local Sprinkler Fitters Local Union 669 was first begun in July 2000. Initially the website was begun for a communication tool which could help unite the thousands of members located in 47 different states. The website became untilized as reference material for Local 669's members and anyone else who was interested in fire sprinkler systems as well as other areas of fire protection.
As time went by, the site branched out into discussions pertaining to political and social issues which affected it's members and eventually, a Yahoo Group was also began to better serve communication. And as a final step, a list server for the members was set up through topica shortly after.
